Significant Dates and Events
1907 The organ is installed in Hill Crest Methodist chapel in Tow Law.
1964 The organ is moved to the nearby Wesleyan Methodist chapel.
1994 The Wesleyan Methodist chapel closes and the organ is left in a now unheated building.
1998 The Methodists donate the organ to Horsley Church, and a small group from Horsley travel to Tow Law to dismantle the instrument.
1999 A gallery is built in Horsley Church to accommodate the instrument and an inaugural service is attended by the Bishop of Newcastle.
2014 First-round funding from heritage Lottery Fund awarded to Horsley Organ Working Group.
2015 Application for second-round funding is made to Heritage Lottery Fund — keep your fingers crossed!
2015 Second-round funding application is successful. In November, the organ was dismantled and transported to Rosyth.
